Robert C. Alexander, 80, Cloverdale, died Saturday at his residence.

Born in Putnam County, he was the son of the late James L. and Flossie A. (Rodger) Alexander. He married Adalene (Ross) Alexander on July 23, 1947, and she survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and later worked as a truck driver.

He was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Hurst-Collins Post 281, Cloverdale, V.F.W. Post 1550, Jesse M. Lee Post, Greencastle and Cloverdale Volunteer Fire Department.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Debra Semlinger, Vicki Parker and husband Bruce, and Karon Gaddis and husband Jay, all of Cloverdale; an aunt, Bea Powers, Ladoga; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers Noble "Sonny" Alexander and James Alexander.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Robert Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
