David Michael Tzitz, 57, Brazil, died at his residence of heart failure.

Born March 4, 1947, in Portage, he was the son of George and Delores Tzitz. He married Mary Kathryn Kerr on Aug. 11, 1977, and she survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He worked for CBS, the Cloverdale Shell station, and then as a correctional officer at RDC in Plainfield. Recently he worked as a materials handler at Heartland Automotive and worked there for more than six years.

Additional survivors include a son, Michael David Tzitz; two daughters, Denise Marie Tzitz and Suzanne Tzitz; three stepchildren, Joseph Charles Toth, Grace Marietta Toth and Steven A. Toth; an uncle, Norman Hill; and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Davey Tzitz.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at French Funeral Home, Brazil, with the Rev. Jacob Raubuch officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
