Stella Ileen Garl, 55, Greencastle, died Monday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born in Putnam County to Walter Leroy "Bill" and Ilene Lucille (Fowler) Ash. She married Robert Russell Garl and he preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1981.

She was a homemaker and member of the Eagles Lodge in Greencastle.

Survivors include her children, Mindy Garl, Angel Grimes and husband Charlie, Tommy Stevens, Michael Stevens, and Britteny Cassady, all of Greencastle; one granddaughter; three brothers, Charles Ash, Mike Ash of Greencastle, and Jimmy Ash of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bill Ash Jr. and Clyde Edward Ash.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.

There will be no visitation.
