Phillip O. Evans, 87, Coatesville, died Friday morning at Putnam County Hospital.

Born in Floyd Township, he was the son of Jesse and Rose (Zeiner) Evans.

He was a farmer and a member of Bethel Baptist Church and Stephens Coon Hunters Association.

He attended No. 7 Grade School in Putnam County and was a 1937 graduate of Fillmore High School.

Survivors include his wife Lucille M. (Cline) Evans; son Arthur (Art) Evans, Greencastle; daughter Rachel Mohr, Coatesville; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church, Fillmore. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville.
