two arrested after at-home attack

Two men were arrested following a knife fight on Arlington Street Tuesday afternoon.

Greencastle Police Dept.'s Emergency Response Team responded to the 2 p.m. call at 9 S. Arlington St. Upon arrival, police determined that two suspects had entered the residence of Casey Bunten, 18, and injured him. After the altercation, suspects Michael Gaines, 32, and Albert Lee Brown, 36, fled to the Gaines residence at 636 E. Washington St.

Police obtained a search warrant, and the response team searched the Washington Street residence. They found Gaines hiding in the attic, and Brown lying on the couch.

Both men were booked into the Putnam County Jail Wednesday afternoon. Gaines was booked in at 5:32 p.m. for residential entry.

Brown was booked in at 8:21 p.m. for battery resulting in serious bodily injury and residential entry. No motive was given by police for the incident. The case is under investigation by Greencastle Det. Randy Seipel.
