SPCSC board peruses budget

The South Putnam Community School board made quick work of its business during the special board meeting held Monday.

According to Supt. Bruce Bernhardt, the board accepted a bid for three 66 passenger buses from Kerlian Bus Sales. The board had discussed a need for buses to complete the fleet.

Transportion Director for the corporation Chuck Shaffer approved of the bid from Kerlian.

The board also approved of the latest personnel report. Retiring from South Putnam High School are history/social studies teacher Wayne Schuetter and math teacher Scott Allen, while lunch cashier Lee Ann Phillps is retiring from Central Elementary.

The board approved the hiring of the follow faculty and staff: elementary art teacher Rustin Swartzentruber, high school math teacher Tiffany Dickson, high school English/speech teacher Jim Helsley, high school English teacher Jon Sparks, high school science/math teacher Chris Burghardt, high school science teacher Bob Wasson, high school social studies/sociology teacher Levi Carmichael, high school math teacher Natalie Burgess, junior high school track and cross country coach Jim Helsley, junior high school football and basketball coach Jon Sparks, junior high school football and high school JV basketball coach Levi Carmichael, high school secretary Rebecca Plunkett, high school receptionist Marie Neumann, Central Elementary lunch cashier Carriei Tomasino, Fillmore Elementary cafeteria worker Jill Stewart, and high school lay assistant varsity football coach Don Edwards.

The board approved the pre-adoption of the 2007 budget.

The budget will then be published twice before the board will hold a special public hearing for the budget on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
