Airport Appreciation Days slated Sept. 8-10

The EAA Chapter 1374, Dixie Chopper Business Center and Putnam County Board of Aviation is hosting Airport Appreciation Days at the Putnam County Airport on Sept. 8-10 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Children ages 8 to 17 are invited to enjoy a fee airplane ride with parental/guardian permission.

A registration form must be completed and signed by a parent/guardian at the airport prior to the ride.

Each child registered to ride will receive an official young eagle certificate, and will have their name entered in the world's largest logbook at the EAA headquarters, Oshkosh, Wisc.

Adults and children under the age of 8 may also ride in an airplane for a nominal fee.

Paid helicopter rides for all ages will also be available Friday through Sunday.

Final Approach restaurant will be serving food and drinks in the hanger on Friday from 11 am.-9 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Putnam County Rods and Relics car show will also be held on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Plaques and prizes will be awarded on various judged categories.

Come out for a weekend filled with activities and fun for all.

If the weather should not cooperate, the activities will be moved to the hanger.
