Tiger Sharks dominate County

On a day both school records and meet records were shattered, the Greencastle boys' swim team dominated the Putnam County Meet at South Putnam.

The Tiger Sharks took first place in all but one event in the competition, racking up 320 team points. South Putnam finished second with 179, while North Putnam scored 121.

Andrew Bretscher led Greencastle, breaking two meet records and one school record. Bretscher set both the meet and school-record in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 53.81, and set another meet record in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:00.81.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Bretscher, Dustin Wood, Mischa Serlin and Luke Crimmins also set a meet record with a time of 1:45.75.

For North Putnam, Shawn Stout took home first place in the 100-yard fly, setting the school record in the event with a time of 59.73. Stout also set a school record in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:18.48, finishing third in the event.

All three teams will compete in the Crawfordsville Sectional Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
