MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- On Sunday, the DePauw University women's soccer squad knocked off Rhodes College, 3-0, to claim the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title outright and the league's automatic qualification in to the NCAA Division III Championship.

Emily Petrus scored twice for the Tigers and assisted on another with Sarah Hile adding the final goal. Hile scored the game-winner at 51:32 off the assist.

Petrus then scored, unassisted at 57:33 and 76:18.

DePauw outshot Rhodes, 13-7, and the Lynx held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks. Brooke Shipley recorded one save in posting her 10th shutout of the season, while Allie Kotula totaled one save for Rhodes.

The Tigers finished the regular season with an 11-6 overall record and an 8-1 SCAC mark. Rhodes finished the season at 11-4-2 and 6-2-1 in the conference.

The DPU men's team also played Rhodes on Sunday, closing out the regular season with a 3-0 win.

The first half was scoreless, and Blake Porter gave the Tigers all they would need with a goal off an assist from Scott Noel at the 53:42 mark. Craig Lippincott scored on a penalty kick at 82:59 and Jeremy Rielly added the final goal at the 89:07 mark.

DePauw outshot Rhodes, 15-4, while the Lynx had a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks. John Fenley had two saves for the Tigers for his sixth shutout this season, while Alex Mathis finished with three saves.

The Tigers extended their streak of .500 or better seasons for 23 years.
