WEST TERRE HAUTE -- The South Putnam girls' varsity basketball continued its undefeated season Tuesday, defeating West Vigo, 61-33, improving to 5-0 on the season.

Leading South Putnam, Meghan Canary led all scorers with 18 points on seven field goals. Jessica Canary added 14 points for the Eagles, while Dara Booe had eight points in the game.

"This was a great team win," Head Coach Debbie Steffy said. "We were able to get a lot of people quality time. Everyone worked extremely hard."

The Eagles jumped to a 17-10 lead in the first quarter, and led 27-18 after the first half of play.

South Putnam outscored West Vigo 23-10 in the third quarter, leading 50-28 going into the final period.

The Eagles' next game is Tuesday at Danville at 7 p.m.
