There was a time when Greencastle girls' basketball Head Coach Glenn Hile didn't know his team could score 60 points.

The Tiger Cubs proved they were capable Saturday. Led by hot shooting from Stefanie Masten and Lauren Robertson, Greencastle rolled past North Central, 60-30, at the McAnally Center.

"The girls have been working very hard," Hile said. "We have been on them. We haven't given them any rest."

The tireless work showed, as Greencastle had a team full of hot hands, hitting 23-of-56 field goals and 6-of-10 three pointers in the game. In particular, Masten was on fire, shooting 10-of-15 from the field for 26 points.

"Stefanie had her best game so far," Hile said. "We executed in getting her the basketball and she hit them. She's a good shooter, as you saw today, and she hasn't really shown that."

Lauren Robertson chipped in 13 points to the cause, including 11 first-half points.

"Another person that's really going to take a lot of pressure of is Lauren Robertson if she keeps shooting the ball she did today," Hile said.

Robertson started off the game, setting the pace, hitting three straight three-point field goals to the close the first quarter.

The Tiger Cubs were up 16-4 after the first stanza. The offense was clicking and the defense was looking dominant.

"We're going to defend people," Hile said. "Our matchup zone, it's really hard to get shots on us."

By halftime the Tiger Cubs were up 35-12. Masten and Robertson combined for 24 points in the half, scoring 15 points and 11 points, respectively. Greencastle was moving on both sides of the ball, dishing out nine assists and ripping nine steals in the first half alone.

The third quarter saw much of the same as the Tiger Cubs outscored their opponents 17-4, moving into the fourth quarter with a commanding and impressive 52-16 lead from which they never looked back.

"Our guards did a better job of getting the ball where it needs to be," Hile said. "We did an all around good job of just executing."

Grace Fisher led Greencastle with six assists in the game, while adding five points from the point guard position.

Despite getting into foul trouble early, Kyrian Marshall had another impressive performance for the Tiger Cubs down low, scoring 10 points, grabbing 11 boards and blocking six shots in the contest. Also working in the block, sophomore Olivia Miller added six points and six rebounds of her own.

The Tiger Cubs move to 2-4 on the season. They play at Danville Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Hile knows Tuesday will be a big day.

It will be a good test for Tuesday. With a tough pressure defense, Danville should provide an accurate measuring stick to size up the Tiger Cubs' offense.

"It will be a good test for us," Hile said. "We're going to have to handle the basketball with hard man to man pressure on us."
