Museum party salutes support of community

Tuesday, November 28, 2006

The Putnam County Museum will host a Holiday Celebration to show appreciation for its supporters from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 in the museum's multipurpose room.

Co-sponsored by North Salem State Bank and Autumn Glen, this event is a thank you to everyone who has supported the museum through annual memberships and for those who would like to become members.

Those interested in attending should contact the museum at 653-8419.

In coordination with the "In Service to Putnam County: Firefighting History" exhibit and the arrival of the 1928 Greencastle fire truck for the winter, the museum has adopted a "fireside" theme for the party. A fireside represents warmth and welcome.

The museum invites members, new and old, to spend the evening reminiscing with favorites from the holidays like cookies and confections, music and Santa, decorations, door prizes, fun and featuring appetizers from Treasures on the Square. Music from the Fret Set will fill the exhibit area. The event is a great way to share with friends and family the exciting things happening at the museum.

The Putnam County Museum is located at 1105 N. Jackson St. Regular museum hours are 1-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, and by appointment.
