JV Cougars drop game to Cadets

CLAYTON -- The North Putnam Cougars junior boys varsity basketball team couldn't overcome a great second half from the Cascade Cadets Thursday night and were defeated, 49-33, at home.

North's squad hung tough in the first half, only being outscored by one-point, 20-19, with Raine Young leading the way with seven points in the half. Young led the Cougars in scoring with 15 points and their lone three-pointer.

But in the second half Cascade outscored the Cougars 29-14 and secured the win with an 18-2 third quarter.

T.J. Wilhite scored six points in the contest for the Cougars and Jerrett Ban had four points. Brock Jones scored three points and went 1-of-2 from the line.

Kyle Adams and Jacob Lasiter scored two points each and Wes Bryan scored one point from the line.
