Ophard "Slim" Tucker, 79, Spencer, died Thursday at Owen Valley Health Campus.

Born in Delta, Ky., he was the son of Albert and Bertha (Dodson) Tucker.

He was retired from G.E. and was a former businessman in Spencer. He was a life member of the Spencer VFW and a member of the Spencer American Legion.

Survivors include sons Steven Tucker, Lyle Tucker and Devon Tucker, all of Spencer; daughters Linda Spicer, Switz City, and Nancy Hester, Gosport; stepchildren Robert Gerard, Roger Gerard and Brenda Strunk, all of Spencer; brothers Ode Tucker and Gib Tucker, both of Spencer, Leonard Tucker, Mount Meridian, Al Tucker, Cloverdale, and Harold Tucker, Keosaugua, Iowa; sisters Adell Keith, Lois Bixler and Chris Stahl, all of Spencer; five grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by in death by his parents, his wife Beverly (Sherfield) Tucker, brother Roland "Short" Tucker, and a grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West and Parrish and Pedigo Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Bruce McDaniel officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
