Mary Jane Lanie

Mary Jane Engle Lanie, 83, Attica, died Friday at The Waters of Greencaste.

Born in Danville, Ill., she was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Shouse) Engle.

A graduate of Danville (Ill.) High School, she resided with her husband in Warren County, and had lived in Attica since 1974. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Attica.

She married Amous Lanie on Dec. 13, 1944 at Camp Lejuene, N.C. He died Dec. 26, 1999.

Surviving are two sons, John A. Lanie and wife Roberta, Greencastle, and Tim J. Lanie and wife Linda, Indianapolis; two daughters, Jane Ann Lanie, Danville, Ill., and Judy Rockford and husband Joe, Springfield, Ill.; sister Barb Schroeder and husband Don, San Diego, Calif., three grandsons and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, brothers Fred, Frank and John Engle, and sisters Helen McDaniel and Marie Butt.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, Attica, with Father David Rasner officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
