Paul William Eggers

Paul William Eggers, 65, Quincy, died Thursday at his daughter's residence in Cloverdale.

Born in Indianapolis, he was the son of John and Geneva "Neb" (Williamson) Eggers. He married Barbara E. (Showecker)Eggers on Dec. 7, 1963. She preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2004.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, he was a mail carrier in the Cloverdale area for 19 years and was a Boy Scout leader. He was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include a daughter, Shelly (Eggers) Hooper, Cloverdale; two sons, Tom Jarrett and wife Laurie, Martinsville, and William Eggers and wife Kim, Quincy; two brothers, Arthur Eggers, Martinsville, and John Eggers, Plainfield; and a sister, Patricia Williams, Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Sandra Kay Eggers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Martinsville with burial to follow at Shumaker Cemetery, Eminence.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Costin Funeral Home, Martinsville.
