Dorothy K. Haltom, 72, Plainfield, formerly of Putnam County, died Wednesday at her residence.

Born in Columbus, Ga., she was the daughter of James F. Duncan and Lula Belle (Millsap) Duncan.

She worked at several restaurants in the Greencastle and Cloverdale area, including the Windy Hill Golf Course, the Monon Grill and the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Greencastle.

She married John W. Haltom on Sept. 6, 1959. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2003.

Survivors include son Michael Davidson and his partner Thomas, Calif., Ronald Lyon, Fla., Alan Haltom and wife Vickie, Plainfield; daughter Brenda Haltom, R.I., and Tonya Armstrong and husband Elmer, W. Va.; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Timmy Haltom, brothers Hayward Revell and Gene Revell, sister Frances Duncan, and two grandchildren.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Monday at French Funeral Home, Brazil, with Rev. Hubert Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Poland Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and again Monday prior to services at the funeral home.
