The 10th ranked DePauw Tiger women's team took care of the Southwestern Pirates in short order Saturday night, 69-48, but not before letting the Pirates stayed relatively close in the first-half.

DePauw struggled to get going early but soon got on track with Liz Bondi leading the way.

Bondi scored a game-high 23 points and also pulled down three rebounds. She set the tone early for the Tigers as she knocked back a Pirates' shot and scored five seconds later on a short jumper.

DePauw opened the second half with a 17-point lead and steadily built upon it throughout the half.

Cassie Pruzin got things going by hitting a three-pointer at the 18:30 mark to give DPU the lead, 34-18. Bridget Bailey gave the Tigers more life, as she had a rebound putback and the Tigers led, 43-22.

Caitlin McGonigal came in and quickly made her presence known. She connected on a long range shot and followed that up with a layup to breakout DePauw's lead to 23 points.

The Tigers got their largest lead of 27 points at the 6:41 when Gwen Haehl hit a three-pointer and coasted to the win.

Along with Bondi in the first half, Kalei Lowes downed a bomb to give DePauw a five-point lead and then drained another at the 16:48 mark.

DPU settled down on offense and provided more pressure on defense midway through the first half to set the pace and begin to overpower the Pirates. Bailey hit 1-of-2 free throws in the final seconds to supply DPU's half time lead.

DePauw will travel to face Rhodes College this Friday at 6 p.m.
