Ada Magee Hale, 99, Greencastle, died Wednesday in Greencastle.

Born near Lick Fork Creek in Laurel County, Ky., she was the daughter of Austin and Hannah Alice (Cornett) Magee.

A 1929 graduate of Sue Bennett Junior College in London, Ky., she attended Indiana Central College in Indianapolis and earned a degree at Eastern Kentucky University. She was a former elementary school teacher in Laurel County, where she taught for 33 years. She was a charter member of the Nazarene Church in London, Ky., where she was Sunday school superintendent, adult class teacher, president of the missionary society, and song leader.

She married Ray T. Hale on July 7, 1936 in Clermont, Ind. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Bruce A. Hale and wife Linda, Roachdale; two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, children Helen J. Hale and H. Ray Hale, and brothers Roy, Walter, James and Daniel Magee.

Services will begin with visitation from 4-6 p.m. Monday at Lynhurst Neighborhood Funeral Home, Indianapolis, followed by a memorial service with Pastor Frank Bunn officiating. Burial will be at Rough Creek Cemetery near London, Ky.
