GMS swimmers earn split

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Greencastle Middle School girls swimming and diving (3-3) team defeated Tuttle Thursday night, 103-79.

The 200 medley relay team of eighth-graders Tess Handy , Sydney Terry , Melanie Bittles and sixth-grader Harriet Watson started off the meet with a first place finish. Bittles led the way for the Tiger Sharks with a pair of wins in the 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard butterfly events. GMS also finished first and second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The GMS boys swimming team (4-2) dropped a close meet to Tuttle Thursday, 97-89. Jesse Elkins won the 50 yard butterly and set a school record in the process with his time of 28.01 seconds. Jay Guffey` recorded a win in the 50 freestyle and Cody Watson in the 100 yard breaststroke.
