Edith L. Lawson, 85, Coloma, died Friday at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.

Born in Clinton, she was the daughter of Louis Edward and Elizabeth (Firestone) Havey.

A 1938 graduate of Rockville High School and a graduate of T.H. Business College, she served three years with the WAVES during World War II. She was previously employed at Newport Ammunition Depot, Rock Island, Ill., Arsenal, and Columbia Records.

She married David Lawson in Indianapolis on April 20, 1957. He died in 1980.

Surviving are two sisters, Virginia Neuendorf, Terre Haute, and Clara Vargason, Montezuma; three brothers, Louis Havey, Rockville, Charles Havey, Payson, Ariz., and Gene Havey, Reelsville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers Patrick and John Havey, and sisters Lucille Clevenger and Myrtle Jones.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Barnes Mortuary, Rockville, with Rev. William Flanigan officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday.
