Ernest H. "Bud" Crites

Ernest H. "Bud" Crites, 77, Freedom, died Monday.

Born in Indianapolis, he was the son of Harold and Mabel (Reynolds) Crites.

A 1948 graduate of Spencer High School, he served in the U.S. Navy, and worked in vending for 20 years, owning and operating Steichen Vending Machine Sales.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Joanne (Hatton) Crites; children Patricia Herron and husband Bruce, John Crites, and Susie Young; three brothers, Dale Crites, Marvin Crites and wife Doris and Randy Crites and wife Shiela; sister Deannie Neier and husband Erwin; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at West Parrish and Pedigo Funeral Home, Spencer.
