DePauw tennis moves to 9-3

GREENCASTLE -- The DePauw men's tennis team improved its record to 9-3 on the season with its win over Case Western Reserve, 9-0, on Sunday at home.

DePauw's No. 1 doubles pair of Evan Webeler and Scott Swanson defeated Joe and John Smetona, 8-2 while the No. 2 pair Kortney Keith and Jeff Zanchelli posted a win against Ben Sinder and Allen Ye, 8-2. The No. 3 duo of Bryan Heck and Scott Sandager defeated Mike Peterson and Adam Erickson, 8-4, to close double action.

In singles action, No. 1 Webeler defeated Joe Smetona, 6-3, 7-6, while No.2 Keith won against Ben Sinder, 7-5, 6-1.

In the No.3 spot, Swanson slammed by Allen Ye 6-0, 6-1 and No. 4 Heck came back to win against John Smetona, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. No. 5 Zanchelli cruised by Mike Peterson 6-4, 6-1, while Sandager closed down Kenneth Nguyen 6-3, 6-1 to round out the scoring for the Tigers.

DePauw (9-3) will travel to face Emory Sat. at 12 p.m.
