TERRE HAUTE -- Cloverdale golf opened its season Monday evening, traveling to Hulman Links to take on West Vigo. The Clovers came away with a 173-179 victory over the Vikings.

Michael Glassburn was medalist, shooting a 40. Sean Rhine, Andrew Cofer and Kevin Gregg rounded out the scoring for Cloverdale.

Coach Doug Wokoun was postive about the team's play but emphasized there is more work to do.

"Our play was acceptable for the first match, but we have lots of work to do. Our putting was particularly costly," Wokoun said.

"We hit some pretty good shots through the round, but were not able to always put them together to score. We will be working to improve our management over the next few days."

The Clovers travel to Linton's Phil Harris Golf Course on Thursday.
