2007 Strength, Speed and Agility Camp

DePauw University will be hosting its 2007 Tiger Strength, Speed and Agility Camp June 4-29 at the university. The camp is an intensive four-week training program for male and female athletes of all sports ages 12 to 18.

The camp is for middle school and high school male and female athletes intrested in developing their physical potential and ability through resistance training, speed-agility-quickness development, core stability, plyometric training, balanc and dynamic flexibility.

Campers will train in a safe, monitored environment, under the direction of DePauw strength and conditioning staff. Instruction will focus on proper technique and safety, injury prevention, warm-ups and cool-downs, exercise/drill selection and proper program manipulation to maximize results without exceeding adaptive capabilities.

High school camp (ages 15-18) will run Monday-Friday for the four weeks from 1:30-3 p.m. The camp is designed to teach basic and advanced principles of power, strength, agility and speed. It will focus on individualized training leading to improvement in explosiveness, agility and speed need for upcoming seasons. Registration is 1-1:30 p.m. June 4 at Blackstock Stadium.

Middle school camp (ages 12-14) will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:15-4:15 p.m. This camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of power, strength, speed and agility. Focus will be on proper strength and stability training technique, balance, improving usable flexibility, eye-hand coordination, form running and speed training. Registration is 2:45-3:15 June 4 at Blackstock Stadium.
