DPU women to unveil banner Thursday

The DePauw University women's basketball squad is inviting all to watch as the 2007 NCAA Division III National Championship banner will be unveiled above the Neal Fieldhouse floor at the Lilly Center at 8 p.m. Thursday.

On March 17, the Tigers knocked off Washington University, 55-52, in the finals of the NCAA Division III Tournament, which took place in Springfield, Mass.

The victory was DePauw's first national championship in a team sport. Thursday's ceremony will take place at the conclusion of a student-athlete recognition event, sponsored by the DPU athletic department.

National championship T-shirts will be available for sale at the entrance of the gymnasium.
