Irene Henderson, 92, Clayton, died Wednesday at Clayton.

Born in Bowling Green, Ky., she was the daughter of Samuel Goad Sr. and Belle (Estes) Goad.

A homemaker, she was a member of Monrovia Nazarene Church and Hazelwood Community Circle. She had resided in Clayton since 1950, previously diving in Indianapolis for 19 years and Monrovia for four years.

She married William Russell Henderson on Nov. 27, 1937.

Surviving are two children, Shirley Phelps and husband Harlos, Clayton, and Thomas Henderson and wife Carolyn, Plainfield; foster son Stephen Stanger and wife Jeri, Indianapolis, and foster daughter Bonnie Wessel, Indianapolis; brother Samuel Goad Jr., Greencastle; sister Hazel Estes, Indianapolis; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and 65 other foster children.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville, with Brian Fleenor officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
