North baseball wins at WeBo

THORNTOWN -- The North Putnam baseball team used a big seventh inning to overpower Western Boone, 15-11, Monday night on the road.

The Cougars, tied with the Stars at 11, drove in four runs in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach.

North had another big night at the plate, hitting three home runs and two doubles.

Brayden and Griffen Dahlstrom each hit a homer and Griffen also connected on a double while driving in five. Shelby Reed was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI, while Jake Mullis and Kyle Rooker was both 2-for-5.

Brian Blaydes pitched six innings for the Cougars and Jordan Berry came in to relieve him in the seventh.

The Cougars travel to North Montgomery Wednesday at 6 p.m.
