Several streets targeted for striping project

The Greencastle Department of Public Works intends to continue striping on city streets, a process that could continue until mid-June, said Greencastle Street Commissioner Paul Wilson.

According to Wilson, the department hopes to begin striping on Arlington Street, moving to East Franklin Street and ending on Albin Pond Road.

"The work would consist of repainting the double yellow lines and the white lines along the guardrails," he said.

Within the next few weeks, Wilson hopes for the department to also repaint the intersections on Indianapolis Road (from Wood Street to Dixie Chopper).

"That would include mid-sections, turn lanes, and the arrows," Wilson said. "It's important to repaint those intersections because of the heavy traffic out there."

The commissioner stresses that the objectives are preliminary and weather-permitting. "It depends on the help we get this summer, along with how much paint we're going to need," he said.
