Greencastle Fire Dept.

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to several recent runs.

On Tuesday:

*At 8:53 p.m., firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide detector at 881 Deerfield Dr. CO levels were detected, and firefighters aired out the area. CO levels were reported to be due to a faulty oven burner. They returned to the station at 10:31 p.m.

On Thursday:

*At 3:22 a.m., firefighters were responding to an alarm at Putnam County Hospital but were disregarded before reaching the destination. They returned to the station at 3:29 a.m.

*At 7:13 a.m., firefighters responded to an alarm set off at Humbert Hall (208 Olive St.). They found the alarm was set off due to hair spray. They returned to the station at 7:23 a.m.

*At 12:09 p.m., firefighters went to monitor air levels at Jacob and Indiana streets due to a gas odor. They didn't find anything and returned to the station at 2:27 p.m.

*At 12:35 p.m., firefighters responded to an alarm at Putnam County Hospital. They were disregarded before reaching the destination. They returned to the station at 12:37 p.m.

*At 1:30 p.m., firefighters responded to an alarm set off due to construction at Putnam County Hospital. They did reach their destination and returned to the station at 1:43 p.m.

*At 11:21 p.m., firefighters responded to a gas odor at 505 Meadow Dr. They monitored the area and did not find any hazardous gas. They returned to the station at 11:35 p.m.

City Police

The Greencastle Police Department issued three tickets recently.

On Tuesday:

*At 2:20 p.m., James Quinn, 64, Brownsburg, was cited on South Bloomington and Washington streets with driving while suspended. He was cited by Officer Travis DeLaGrange.

On Wednesday:

*At 1:35 a.m., Brad Martin, 23, Greencastle, was cited on Howard and Maple streets for possession of marijuana. He was cited by Officer Eric Vaughn.

*At 3:45 p.m., Normal Bartlett, 29, Fillmore, was cited for a seat belt violation.
