S.P. opens season with tourney win

BRAZIL -- South Putnam girls' golf opened the season strong on its home course Tuesday, winning the Eagle Pride Invitational at Oak Ridge by 36 strokes over second-place Southmont and North Montgomery. The Eagles shot a 372. Cloverdale finished sixth with a 504.

Emily Zimmerman paced the Eagles, shooting a 79 to take medalist honors.

The Eagle and Clovers are both back in action today at the Clover Invitational.
