Putnam County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Felicia Sue Poulter, 26, West Terre Haute, was booked in at 9:27 a.m. Wednesday on a petition to revoke probation. She was arrested at PCJ.

* Ryan Hershel Phelps, 25, Greencastle, was booked in at 2:02 a.m. Thursday for public intoxication. He was arrested by Greencastle Officer Matthew Huffman.

Sheriff's Dept.

One person was injured at 1:12 a.m. Thursday in an accident on CR 250 East near CR 1100 North.

Sgt. Thomas Helmer reported that Holly M. Burdine, 30, 13268 N. CR 825 East, Roachdale, was driving north in a 2001 Dodge Caravan when a deer ran in front of her van. She swerved to avoid the animal and lost control of the vehicle, which hit a tree head-on.

Burdine complained of neck and head pain and was taken to Putnam County Hospital via PMH Ambulance.

Damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Correction

In the Aug. 8 story, "Seven slots unopposed for Nov. 6 election," a candidate for Cloverdale Town Council Ward One was missing. Democrat Daniel Inlow will face two other candidates for the position.
