Greencastle pool offering 'Doggie Days' tonight

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

If you have a dog that likes to swim, don't miss your chance to take part in Soggy Doggie Day, tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the Greencastle Aquatic Center.

There will be a doggie costume contest, doggie triathlon (divided into groups by the sizes of the dogs), speed race, obstacle course, and Frisbee contest. Prizes will be awarded to the "Top Dogs."

The fee is $3 for the dog and his or her human companions. Each additional dog, with human companion, is $1.

There will be music, concessions stand specials and "dogtastic" fun. Don't miss this unique opportunity with your pet.

Pre-registration is appreciated, but the fee may be paid at the door and walk-ins are welcome. A $1 "Just Watching Fee" will be applied to those who don't have pets but just want to witness the fun.

Unfortunately, human companions will not be allowed to swim with dogs due to health code restrictions, but we will have a lifeguard on duty to ensure the safety of all.

Registration forms are available at Greencastle City Hall, Bright Futures, and The Putnam County Library. For more information, contact The Greencastle Aquatics Center at 848-1909 or the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department at (765) 653-3395, or by e-mail at athorn@cityofgreencastle.com
