Cloverdale volleyball defeats West Vigo

WEST TERRE HAUTE -- It took four games, but the Cloverdale Clovers volleyball team defeated West Vigo 25-17, 25-27, 25-17 and 25-15 on the road Thursday night.

Kristin McCammon led the Clovers in scoring by recording 18 points, with Maria Skiles following with 13. Kaileigh Sparks added eight points, Erica Lotz had six, Alesha Evans and Allie Franklin scored four each, Ashley Koosman had three and Kristen Schroer had two points for the Clovers.

Sparks also added four aces, with Evans and McCammon adding three and Skiles with one.

Koosman led the Clovers with 11 kills on the night. McCammon added four and Jennifer Wiley and Elizabeth Cheatham had three each.

Cheatham also lead the team in blocks, as she recorded eight blocks and two stuff blocks in the contest.

Koosman had 10 digs, McCammon had nine and Schroer and Franklin added five each.

"We played well tonight," CHS coach Kathy Moore said. "I am seeing some improvement each time we play. We have been working on blocking and we idd a much better job this match."

Cloverdale will compete in the Crawfordsville Tourney 9 a.m. Saturday.
