South's girls continue winning ways

The South Putnam girls' golf team edged out Terre Haute South, 187-188, on Wednesday on the road.

Emily Zimmerman took medalist honors for South with a 38. Heather Hughes was close behind with a 40.

Tosha Fisher shot a 52 and Grace Aker came in with a 57.

On Monday, the Eagles defeated Monrovia, 192-201, at Deer Creek.

Zimmerman also led the way and tied for medalist honors with a 43, while Hughes followed with a 47. Aker and Fisher each shot a 51, Chelsea Clark shot a 54 and Kelsey Searles.

The Eagles will compete in the Western Boone Invitational at 1 p.m. at Cool Lake Golf Club Saturday.
