The Cloverdale Civic League raffled off a beautiful wooden handmade playhouse, donated by Sanders Contracting and Management Company.

The raffle raised money to help build a new playground structure at the Cloverdale Community Park.

The park has already had a facelift including paint, flowers, signs and new gravel from the Civic League, as well as the excavation of two youth-size soccer fields.

The Civic League is currently looking for someone interested in starting up a youth soccer league in Cloverdale next spring.

The fields are in and the goals, concession stand and players' benches will be in later this fall. Anyone interested can contact Angela Ladd at 795-5139.

The park will also receive a new playground structure with slides, climbers and activity panels, as well as toddler rockers, swings, a tire swing and a handi-swing in May 2008.

A paved walk path, which has been postponed until fall 2008, will also be placed in the community park with benches and flowers for the families of Cloverdale to enjoy.

The Civic League would not be able to complete all these projects without the support of the community and would like to express its heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Bill and Gabe Sanders, who worked tirelessly to build and paint this playhouse, which was finished inside and out.

Patrick Hoffa won the raffle during the cattle auction at the Putnam County Fair. Patrick and all the children from Ju Ju's Daycare and Preschool will get years of play in that house.

The Civic League has several other fundraisers in the works for this fall and next spring, including a motorcycle ride, charity walk and a town picnic/concert Oct. 20 at the park.

You will also see the Civic League at local events selling cookbooks.

Every effort is being put into making our park a fun, safe place for the families in our community to come together.

If you are interested joining the Civic League or attending any of our events, including the playground build in May of next year, please contact Angel Ladd at 795-5139 or kladd@ccrtc.com.
