Anna Mae Whitlock, 79, Greencastle, died Friday evening at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Bennet and Evelyn (Myers) Plummer.

A 1946 graduate of Greencastle High School, she had worked at G.C. Murphy's for 10 years and at the Angwell Curtain Factory for one year. She was also a homemaker, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Putnam County Hospital Guild, TOPS, euchre group and played and called bingo a the Greencastle McDonald's She was active in the Putnam County Senior Center.

She married Edward Whitlock on Aug. 23, 1947. He died Oct. 8, 1995.

Surviving are two sons, Bennet Whitlock and wife Sarah, Greencastle, and Michael Whitlock and wife Sharie, North Salem; brothers Jimmy Plummer and wife Shelia, Indianapolis, and Richard Plummer, Fillmore; sisters Janice Hubbard, Stilesville, and Helen Young, Cloverdale; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Earl Plummer and sister Arlene Taylor.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
