Welcoming newcomers to community

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

The 2007 Chamber of Commerce Newcomer Reception has been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Mill Pond Health Campus.

This annual event, which is once again being co-sponsored by Mill Pond Health Campus, is a welcome to the community's newest citizens, who have moved to Greencastle and/or Putnam County in the past year. The Chamber will send personal invitations to a delicious breakfast, offer gift bags full of goodies from local Chamber businesses, give a welcome by both the Chamber President and the Mayor of Greencastle, have the chance for door prizes and then wrap up the morning by taking the new community members on a fun and informative bus tour of the highlights of Greencastle.

"It is the chamber's way of saying welcome home," Chamber Director Tammy Amor said.

Anyone who has moved to the community in the past year and would be interested in attending this free event should call 653-4517 or e-mail gchamber@gogreencastle.com with their name and mailing address by Sept. 24.
