Berdee Lanie

Roberta L. "Berdee" Lanie, 60, Greencastle, died Monday.

Born in LaPorte, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen (Saunders) Cripe.

A guidance counselor at Greencastle Middle School for the last 17 yeas, she was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Green­castle Cemetery Board, and the Greencastle Housing Authority Board.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brian J. Lanie, on Feb. 12, 1996, and her parents.

Surviving are her husband, John A. Lanie; son Jason Lanie and wife Alison, Zionsville; and sisters and brothers Llani O'Conner, Chicago, Meri Pruess and husband Jerry, Lafayette, Sarah Sentman and husband Bill, Scott Depot, W.Va., Nancy Hobt and hsuband Dan, Nevada, Iowa, Larry Cripe and wife Mimi, Indianapolis, and Melissa Schultz, St. Joseph, Mich.

A memorial eucharist will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 520 E. Seminary St., Greencastle, with Rev. William Wieland officiating.

Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Thursday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, Green­castle, with Rev. Wieland officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
