Cougars lose to Cascade in delay

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

Time was not a friend of the North Putnam Cougars girls' soccer team Tuesday night when it faced off against Cascade. After a delay, the Cougars dropped the contest to the Cadets 4-1.

"We came out sluggish after an hour long delay and never really hit out stride throughout the match," North Putnam head coach Scott Spencer said.

The Cougars trailed by one a shot going into the half but Cascade pulled away in the second by scoring three goals.

North Putnam's lone goal came when Brooke Hadley connected with the back of the net in the first half of play.

"We had moments where we could get the ball rolling in our directions, but we played much of the night on our heels. I credit an aggressive Cascade team for keeping the pressure on us all night," Spencer commented.

North Putnam will travel to South Vermillion at 5 p.m. next Tuesday.

At Cascade

North Putnam 1 0 -- 1

Cascade 2 2 -- 4

Next match -- North Putnam will travel to South Vermillion at 5 p.m. next Tuesday.
