The Greencastle boys' soccer team took the pitch Thursday night, as its seniors as well as a former coach were being honored. The Tiger Cubs solidified second place in the WCC with a 4-1 win over Cascade.

Although the night belonged to the seniors, a freshman delivered the Tiger Cubs their first goal of the night.

Cody Watson scored with 35:30 on the clock on an assist from Griffin Moore.

Cascade would tie the game one-all when Joel Fisher pushed a shot through the goal

Greencastle senior Eric Davis splits the Cascade defense Thursday night. Davis finsihed with a goal and an assist.

Greencastle seniors Pat Martin and Eric Davis combined to score three for GHS before the break.

Martin scored on a penalty kick with 22:59 on the clock and again with 16:49 off an assist from Davis. Davis would provide his own goal with: 26 second left before the half. Kyle Thomas provided the assist.

As the half ended, Greencastle held a 3-1 advantage.

"Obviously the first half was a really good half for us," GHS head coach Dave Lilly said. "We came out on a special night, with it being Senior Night and the dedication, we were pretty fired up."

The second half saw back and forth action between the squad with no serious threats on goal until 4:34 remaining in the game, that's when Greencastle junior Damir Tarabar slammed a shot in the back of the net to score the Tiger Cubs final point of the night.

The night saw some physical play between the two teams, resulting in two yellow cards, both of which went against Cascade.

Lilly, looking to his remaining matches before sectional, expressed his happiness in his team's play and hopes they will continue to light up the scoreboards.
