Bob York (center) with sons Nick (left) and Rob have signed the franchise agreement for Chevrolet Buick in Greencastle.

The York Family is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Chevrolet Buick franchise for Putnam County, and that they are the authorized representatives of the Chevrolet Buick Motor Division.

"A warm welcome to all current Chevrolet and Buick owners," Bob York said. "We are happy to service and warranty all Chevrolet Buick products."

The Yorks invite all Putnam county residents to participate in the historic event.

The official signing of the franchise agreement with Chevrolet Buick Motor Division was Monday.

"We are happy to be able to service the transportation needs of everyone. The same open door, hassle-free purchasing event will prevail as always," York said. "We are committed to our slogan, 'We're not No. 1, you are.' That means every day, every transaction."

Bob York started York Pontiac in Greencastle 20 years ago, in 1987. Along with his two sons, Nick and Rob, they have expanded their dealership on the east side of Greencastle.

"The same business policies prevail today as in 1987," he said. "Thanks to the people of Putnam County, we are thrilled to be here for 20 years with this recent acquisition."

The York sons invite everyone to visit their location on Indianapolis Road for a pleasant buying experience.

"With these additional franchises," Nick York said, "We want to be Putnam County's source, whether it's for new, used, parts, repairs or body shop. Customer satisfaction is our highest priority and has been since 1987."

Rob York agreed. "We want everyone to know that everything their auto needs can be taken care of in one stop," he said. "New customers will be welcomed into the York automotive family. A lot of the Chevrolet and Pontiac customers haven't been here before, but we want them to know they will be taken care of."

The York dealership will have an expanded used car inventory, and an immediate variety of Chevrolet, Buick and Pontiac products.

The property on Indianapolis Road has been expanded to accommodate the new inventory.

"Our goal has always been to expand our inventory," Rob York said. "County residents don't have to go out of town for service or sales."

Many of the employees of the former Andy Mohr Chevrolet Buick dealership on Greencastle's north side will be joining the York family as the Mohr location closes.

Some of the new inventory at the Mohr lot will be transferred to the York dealership as part of the acquisition.

The Yorks are not new to the Chevrolet Buick line of vehicles. They operate a Chevrolet Buick dealership in Brazil.

Along with the expanded business in Greencastle, Rob York said convenience for the customers is important, and that may leaded to extended business hours.
