Local candidates for '07 to debate Oct. 24 at DPU

The Greencastle League of Women Voters, WGRE Radio and the Banner-Graphic are co-sponsoring a Candidates Forum for the City of Greencastle at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Watson Forum in the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media on the DePauw University campus.

The Forum will also be broadcast live on WGRE radio and on Greencastle's local cable access Channel 3. All candidates running for office in the city of Greencastle are expected to attend.

Debating at the Forum will be;

* Sue Murray and Steve Butts, candidates for Mayor.

* Rhonda Chaney and Theresa Glenn, candidates for clerk-treasurer.

* John Lanie and Karen Ambler, candidates for city council, at-large.

* Jeremy Carver and Adam Cohen for city council, first ward.

* Jinsie Bingham and Eric Birt, candidates for city council, third ward.

* Terry Smith and Russell Evans, candidates for city council, fourth ward.

Mark Hammer, unopposed candidate for city council, second ward will also be in

attendance to give a statement.

At the conclusion of the Forum audience members will be allowed to ask questions of the candidates. Refreshments will be served.
