Sheriff's Dept.

One accident was investigated recently by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

* At 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, a deer hit a car on CR 500 North near CR 25 West.

Reserve Deputy Gary Boler reported that Melissa Boyd, Bainbridge, was driving a 2004 red vehicle (make not listed) when the deer ran into the side of her vehicle and she could not avoid the collission.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-10,000.

Clarification

In the Oct. 13 story about the car that struck a power pole in Cloverdale last Friday and knocked out electricity to the town, it was reported, based on a police report, that the two men driving the car had come from Jim's Place bar in Cloverdale.

However, bartender Donna McIntyre told the BannerGraphic, after the story was published, that while the men were at the bar the night of the wreck, they were not served any alcohol.
