Greencastle Fire Dept.

Greencastle Fire Department responded to several calls this weekend.

On Saturday:

• At 11:36 a.m., firefighters were called to Blackstock Stadium, 100 W. Hanna St., for a power line on fire. When they arrived, they found a downed power line. Crews called Duke Energy and were back on station at 11:54 a.m.

On Sunday:

• At 7:47 a.m., crews were called to International Automotive Components, 500 N. Fillmore Rd., on a fire alarm. They found a malfunction in the system and returned at 8:47 a.m.

• At 1:20 p.m., firefighters responded to 102 W. Poplar St. for a fire alarm. They received a disregard and were back at 1:26 p.m.

• At 3:25 p.m., crews were called to a stove fire at 301 E. Seminary St. They extinguished the fire and returned at 5:21 p.m.

• At 5:22 p.m., fighters responded to 1301 Bloomington St. for a lift assist. They returned at 5:34 p.m.

• At 6:42 p.m., crews were called to 1003 Castlebury Drive for a gas leak. They received a disregard and returned at 6:48 p.m.

Sheriff's Dept.

Three accidents were investigated recently by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept.

•Deputy Gregg Slover responded to a crash at 5:27 p.m. Friday on U.S. 231 near CR 100 North.

Grant B. Travis, 25, Greencastle told police he was driving north on U.S. 231 when the vehicle driven by Lynne M. Noake, 41, Greencastle, stopped to allow another vehicle to turn off the road, according to a police report.

Travis struck Noake's pickup truck, causing between $5,000 and $10,000 in damage, the report said.

•Sgt. Tom Helmer responded to a single vehicle crash at 12:55 am. Saturday on U.S. 231 near CR 275 West.

Alex C. Ingram, 20, Pendelton, said he was rounding a curve when he was driving south on U.S. 231 and was left of center, according to a police report.

Ingram then swerved to the right to avoid and oncoming car and then lost control of his car when he hit loose gravel on the side of the road. The vehicle spun around and hit an earth embankment before coming to rest in a ditch on the right side of the road, the report said.

Damage is estimated at between $2,500 and $5,000.

• Sgt. Tom Helmer responded to a single vehicle crash at 5:10 a.m. Saturday on CR 375 West near CR 550 South.

Marvin A. Ryan, 49, Greencastle, told police he was traveling south on CR 375 West when he lost control of his vehicle and slid across the northbound lane into the grass, striking a mailbox and a utility pole, according to a police report.

Damage is estimated at between $2,500 and $5,000.

Putnam County Jail

Three people were booked into the jail recently:

• Dustin Kurtis Drauer, 28, Reelsville, was booked in at 3:30 a.m. Monday for operating while suspended or revoked. He was arrested at PCJ.

• Michelle Camarino, 35, Camby, was booked in at 4:40 a.m. Monday for fraud. She was arrested at

PCJ.

• Brandon Paul White, 20, Terre Haute, was booked in at 5:50 a.m. Monday for failing to appear in court. He was arrested at PCJ.
