Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* David A. Kemp, 44, Indianapolis, was booked in at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday by Indiana State Police Trooper Adam Edwards for operating while suspended or revoked with prior infractions. He was released on his own recognizance.

* David H. Jewell, II, 27, Greencastle, was booked in at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday by Greencastle Police Officer Travis DeLaGrange for battery.

* Cassandra Sutherlin, 23, Greencastle, was booked in at 2:52 a.m. Thursday by DePauw University Police Officer Rick Keller for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement. She was released on $1,000 bail.

* Joshua D. Hickman, 20, Indianapolis, was booked in at 3:14 a.m. Thursday by Putnam County Sheriff's Sgt. Tom Helmer for possession of alcohol by a minor and public intoxication. He was released on his own recognizance.

* Albert W. Carter, 22, Poland, Ind., was booked in at 3:38 a.m. Thursday by Putnam County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Tom Helmer for possession of paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was released on his own recognizance.

* Russell Michael Estep, 19, Cloverdale, was booked in at 4:21 a.m. Thursday by Putnam County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Tom Helmer for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

* Timothy Darren Tedders, 27, Indianapolis, was booked in at 8:44 a.m. Thursday by Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy D. Brown for failing to appear in court. He was released later that afternoon on time served.

* Edward Misamore, 35, Bainbridge, was booked in at 9:32 a.m. Thursday by Bainbridge Town Marshal Rodney Fenwick on an out of county hold.

* Damian Dylan Wheeler, 21, Greencastle, was booked in at 4:31 a.m. Friday by DePauw University Police Officers Rick Keller for burglary and theft. He was released on $20,000 bail.

Sheriff's Dept.

Putnam County Sheriff's Deputies responded to one crash recently.

* Deputy Mike Downing responded to a car-deer crash at 10:18 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 40 near County Road 500 West.

Travis E. Hughes, 23, Cloverdale, told police he was driving east on U.S. 40 when a deer ran into the roadway, according to a police report.

Hughes struck the deer, causing between $1,000 and $2,500 in damage.

Greencastle Police

Several tickets were issued recently by Sgt. Christopher Jones, with the Greencastle Police Department.

* At 11:15 a.m. Monday, Leigh A. Jones, 37, Coatesville, was cited on Shadowlawn Ave. for a 34 in a 20 mph zone.

* At 12:05 p.m. Monday, Bennie Kersey, 62, Coatesville, was cited on Indianapolis Road for a seatbelt violation.

* At 12:05 p.m. Monday, Kathy Kersey, 63, Coatesville, was cited on Indianapolis Road for a seatbelt violation.

* At 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, Rebecca Tanksley, 24, Coatesville, was cited on Avenue D for a seatbelt violation.

* At 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Isaac Wood, 23, Greencastle, was cited on East Berry Street for a seatbelt violation.

* At 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Cary Wood, 52, Greencastle, was cited on East Berry Street for a seatbelt violation.

Officer Chris Helmer issued the following ticket:

* At 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, Destany Huff, 19, Greencastle, was cited on Bloomington Street for having a false or fictitious registration.
