Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Playing in the final game of a record-breaking career, DePauw running back Jeremiah Marks was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year and fifth in his career.

The senior running back had a school record 45 carries for 181 yards in the Tigers' 24-21 come-from-behind win over ninth-ranked Wabash in the annual Monon Bell game.

Marks also set single-game career-highs with seven receptions and 97 receiving yards and his two touchdowns in the contest came via pass receptions.

Marks posted a career-high 278 all-purpose yards - the fourth-highest single-game total in DePauw history and the most in a Monon Bell game. His two touchdowns made him the SCAC all-time leader with 336 points and 56 total touchdowns - breaking marks formerly held by Tim McDaniel of Centre (1988-91) who had 54 total touchdowns and 324 points.

It was Marks' 19th career 100-yard rushing game and the senior finishes his career with 3,869 rushing yards (third in SCAC history) and 4,325 all-purpose yards (second in DePauw history).
