Russellville to host Christmas Under the Canopy Dec. 15

The community of Russellville will host Christmas Under the Canopy from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday.

The event encourages the larger community to explore Russellville's eateries and other local businesses that are participating in the event.

Christmas Under the Canopy will feature Kid's crafts and games at the Russellville Fire Depart-ment, Santa and Mrs. Clause will be hearing Christmas lists, posing for pictures and giving gifts at the Depot.

A live nativity will be in front of the Russellville Emporium while live music and free hot cocoa, cider, coffee and cookies will be provided inside Russellville Town Hall.

The gas station will hold a 50/50 drawing and free cookies. Each ticket is $1 or six for $5.

A Christmas wagon will pick up passengers at the gas station and tour the local homes lit with Christmas lights.

The park shelter house will offer free hot cocoa to every visitor who stops to hear a storyteller tell the story of Christmas. While at the park, children can sign up for the change to win a filled stocking for one boy and one girl.

Winners of the 50/50 and stockings will be announced at 8 p.m. inside Russellville Town Hall.
