  • Dr. Travelstead has been my dentist since he came to the office in 1999. He was a great man and I truly enjoyed my visits to his office. He really cared about his patients and made you feel comfortable.

As an ISU Alum, I feel a double sadness for not only losing my dentist but a fellow Sycamore.

He is now in the hands of God which means he is in the best place. May God continue to watch over his friends, co-workers, and family while they begin the healing process.

You will be missed by many.

  • I am so grateful that my dad found such a neat community in which to "start over"; lots of great friends and a dental practice that really seemed to fulfill his need to help folks. He also found a wonderful church in which to be involved and deepen his faith. My brother, my wife, and I are extremely grateful for all the thoughts and prayers for him over the past 3 weeks and we're grateful that he got to spend the last 8 years of his life in such a caring community.

  • Jerry was my friend. That despite the fact that, as we joked, he and I wouldn't have voted for the same candidate for dog catcher. That difference -- and the issues are real -- never, ever got in the way of his being there for me whenever I needed it. A true friend, indeed.
