MARSHALL -- The North Putnam girls' basketball team struggled through a tough shooting night at Turkey Run Tuesday, falling to the Warriors 54-24.

The Cougars (5-12, 2-1 WCC) were down by just seven points at the half, but went ice cold in the second half, allowing the Warriors (14-4, 7-0 WRC) to stretch the final margin to 30.

North coach Kevin Smith said his team's defense and rebounding were not bad, simply the shooting.

"We had a hard time scoring," he said.

Just three Cougars got on the board, with Shawna Johnston leading the way with 12 points. Taylor Alles had 7 and Leah Crosby scored 5.

In the junior varsity contest, North Putnam fell 31-19. Paxton Stephenson and Megan Robinson each scored seven points.
